  • Make friends and practice your speaking skills in a safe place as you gain confidence in English.
  • Build your basic speaking and listening skills, learn vocabulary and grammar to use in everyday life.

Grammar and Writing

Fridays, 3:00-5:00 PM, starting April 14

For adult English language learners looking to improve their writing for work, school, or everyday life.

  • Learn basic writing skills including sentences, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Learn parts of speech, verb tenses, and more.

 

Computer Basics

Tuesdays, 9:30-11:00 AM, starting April 4
Thursdays, 2:30-4:00 PM, starting April 13

For adults with little or no computer experience.

Learn to:

  • use a computer
  • use basic programs
  • use files and folders
  • personalize your computer

Internet Basics

Wednesdays, 12:30-2:00 PM, starting April 5
Thursdays, 9:30-11:00 AM, starting April 13

For adults with some computer experience to learn to use the Internet

Learn:

  • about web browsers
  • to use websites and links
  • to use email
  • how to create strong passwords and stay safe online

PALS Casino

April 9 & 10 at the Starlight Casino, West Edmonton Mall

PALS will be running a Casino Fundraiser and we are looking for volunteers. This event helps raise funds so we can continue to operate as an organization and offer free programs and services to low-literacy learners.

PALS Annual General Meeting

Tuesday, April 18, 5:30 – 8:00 pm at Stanley A. Milner Library

Join us at our Annual General Meeting on April 18. The short business meeting will be followed by the Learner and Volunteer Recognition Event.

Learner and Volunteer Recognition

This is our official opportunity to thank our volunteers and learners! We will have some guest speakers, two learner award presentations, and long-term volunteer service awards. Please join us.

Nominate Your Learner

Learner Achievement Award nominations are now open!

If you feel your learner deserves to be recognized for their hard work and commitment to learning, please nominate them for our Learner Achievement Award! The winner will be announced at our Learner and Volunteer Recognition Celebration and Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 18. The winner will receive a $250 cash prize and their name will be engraved on a plaque in the PALS office.
