Marching into Digital Literacy: New Classes and Faces

March is the month when the weather begins to warm, and the flowers start to bloom… or at least that’s the case in movies. A glance outside shows that I still live in Edmonton where there is snow on the ground. 😂

March also marks the beginning of spring, a season of growth and renewal. Spring is a time to learn and explore new things. Use this season to learn new skills and expand your digital literacy with our upcoming classes that range from computer basics to skills for work!

You can find out more about the upcoming classes here or call me and I would be happy to answer your questions.

Welcome to the Team!

We are so happy to be joined by Rabia, who has been hard at work creating lessons plans and getting the classes ready. She has been working out of the computer lab, so if you’ve been by the office, you may have had a chance to meet her already, but if not, please join me in welcoming Rabia to the digital literacy team!

I also want to welcome Gurpreet and Diana to the team as new digital literacy tutors. I look forward to hearing about the connections and experiences you will have with your learners.

Improve Your Skills with YouTube!

My son is always telling me about something new he learned on this video-sharing site, and there are a lot of fun things that you can learn. We even have a few videos of our own that you can watch on your own time with the ability to pause and rewind the video as needed.

What I found fun to watch was a video on how to write neatly and improve your handwriting. There are some tips that you can follow on how to make your writing easier to read. Just remember, the best thing that you can do to get better at any skill is to practice!

By supporting each other and staying motivated, we can achieve great things. Here’s to a successful and fulfilling learning journey!
