News from TAC – Meet Us at the AGM!

The Tutor Advisory Committee (TAC) facilitates communication among tutors and serves as a liaison between tutors and the Executive Director of PALS. We organize events by tutors, for tutors!

We will be at the AGM/Learner and Volunteer Recognition Celebration.  Please stop by our table to say hi – we would love to meet you and answer any questions you may have about TAC.

TAC offers two ongoing programs for all PALS tutors:

Sharing Circle

Every two months, TAC invites tutors in all streams to an informal group chat on Zoom.  The last one took place on March 21 and was a special welcome to new PALS tutors.  We had a friendly chat where new tutors asked questions, and experienced tutors reminisced about their early days at PALS and what changed in their tutoring over the years.

The next Sharing Circle will be on May 25, in person at the PALS conference.  We would love to see you there!

Tutor Connect

Tutor Connect allows you to connect with a fellow tutor to ask questions, discuss ideas or get some advice.

Choose from the list of tutors who are willing to be contacted by a fellow tutor on the PALS website. You can choose a name from Math, Literacy/LELL or Digital and contact them through their email. Once you’ve made your first connection, you may together decide to continue virtually or by phone.

Join YOUR Tutor Advisory Committee

TAC meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm on Zoom. Please come meet us and say hi!  Do you like organizing events? We would love to hear all your ideas for future tutor events.  Please email us to check out a meeting: [email protected]
