Spring into Reading with Literacy

Hello everybody!

As I am writing this, I can look out my office window and watch the snow melting. The sky is blue and the trees are now bare of snow. You would think it was spring!

Fortunately I have lived in Northern Albert for 28 years now and I know better that March is never that kind. So enjoy the weather until the next snow storm hits and remember me 🙂

Book Club

This month is ‘Spring into Reading’ Month! We are almost finished the current book in Book Club and will be reading this starting in April.

So! Spring into Reading with the PALS Book Club! We meet in the PALS Library on Tuesdays at 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Make friends, have fun and read a really good book!

Talk to Bonnie or Kim to join the Book Club.

Learner Contest: Color a Mandala

Do you like to colour? Many of us stopped colouring when we were young children. In the last decade, however, adult colouring has become very popular. Colouring can bring back childhood memories and spark our creativity. It can improve our motor skills and our focus. It can also improve our mood, help relieve stress, and even improve our sleep. When we colour, our body tends to relax, and many benefits result from being more relaxed.

“Mandala” is a word from Sanskrit meaning circle. Mandalas are popular to colour and they can be used as a type of meditation. Colouring mandalas can help create an inner calm.

Pick up a MANDALA at the PALS Office and colour it. Then enter your mandala for a chance to win a $10 Gift Card!

Deadline to enter: March 30
