P.A.L.S. held our Student and Volunteer Recognition Celebration and Annual General Meeting at the McKay Avenue School Archives and Museum on Tuesday, April 23.
2018 was a very successful year for our learners! We had 83 adult learners in our Literacy program, 125 in our Math Literacy program, and 163 in our Literacy for English Language Learners program. Volunteer tutors contributed more than 13,000 hours to our mission of changing lives through literacy.

Student Achievement Awards
Emmanuel Bautista, James Mah, Tina McEwan, Fatemeh Jiriaee, Natasha Ibisevic, Richelieu Banuelos, Hajar Kharit, Brandon Lillo, Fatou Ouattara, Rose Findlayson, and Marie Jose Tec Toledo were nominated for the Student Achievement Award by their tutors to recognize their progress and accomplishments over the past year.


Outstanding Tutor Awards

Amy Hewko, David Quick, Vijay Singh, Linda Sutcliffe, Jennifer Russill, Katie Stephens, Catalina Garcia-Hidalgo, Allyssa Sabool, Tanya Ulmer, Theresa Seraphim were nominated by their students for the Outstanding Tutor Award to recognize their dedication and commitment.
Calvin Jensen was recognized for more than 10 years of service as a volunteer.
